Alec is the 'face of sailing' for Sky TV covering the sport's top class events from around the world. He is currently presenting the live coverage of the America's Cup World Series. He commentated on the start of this year's Vendee Globe and will be in Denmark in August 2013 to commentate on the Nations Cup.

2009 saw Alec travel the world with the Volvo Ocean Race working with Sunset+Vine to develop news coverage for the race. He has also worked for host broadcasters at a number of elite sailing events including America's Cup, two seasons of the MedCup and the Superyacht Cup.

Alec's passion for sailing grew when he presented the 32nd America's Cup and anchored 49 live shows from London and Valencia for Sky Sports. It was the first time sailing had been covered so comprehensively on British TV and brought the excitement of the sport to thousands of new viewers and praise from TV critics.

Despite advice from a number of Olympic sailors, Alec continues to regularly capsize.
